  • Thankfully, Infinity Ward is now taking action, confirming that the weapon has an issue and doing things the developer didn't intend inside of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. On Friday, the studio.

Infinity Ward is an American video game developer located in Woodland Hills, California. Established in 2002, Infinity Ward has developed Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 4, Modern Warfare 2, Modern Warfare 3, Ghosts, Infinite Warfare, and Modern Warfare. Hopefully it's only been done until Infinity Ward can release a more detailed and engaged discussion on the topic of netcode, but until then, fans probably shouldn't hold their breath. Next: Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's PC File Size is Absurd. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is out now for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 's netcode explanation video went down poorly when developer Infinity Ward was forced to disable comments almost immediately following vocal and frequent fan backlash.

It's almost that time of year, where Activision Blizzard and this year's Call of Duty developer will lift the lid on the latest entry. Infinity Ward, this year's developer and a long-loved Call of Duty developer that created the Modern Warfare series, has kept its cards close to its chest ahead of Call of Duty 2019‘s reveal in June.

Ahead of the reveal, we've taken a look over the studio's history as a Call of Duty developer, and ranked their games from worst, to best. Agree or disagree with the list? Sound off in the comments below!

Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare

If you're looking for a moment that the Call of Duty franchise officially lost its way and 'jumped the shark', then 2016's Infinite Warfare may just be that game.

Its reveal trailer quickly became the most downvoted in Call of Duty history, showcasing a space-bound Call of Duty outing that seemed at odds with the best of the series up to that point.

The announcement of Modern Warfare Remastered helped soften the blow, but one has to one if Infinite Warfare would have sold as much as it did without the power of Modern Warfare Remastered encouraging sales.

The game was absolutely blasted by the gaming community upon reveal, and while it still managed to be among 2016's most popular games, it was well below the sales and quality expectations established by the franchise.

Such was the negative response to the game's space-bound adventure that publisher Activision promised to bring the franchise back to the ground with 2017's entry.

Call of Duty: Ghosts

Call of Duty Ghosts came onto the scene at the worst possible time. Players were crying out for more after six years of what now seemed like the same Call of Duty game over and over again, creating a stale sense of irrelevance.

That said, Ghosts was perhaps underrated at its time, but still not quite as good as Infinity Ward's best. Given what came after it in the likes of Advanced Warfare and Infinite Warfare, Ghosts was the last of the 'great' era of Call of Duty games. Roblox player 64 bit.

Many felt that Ghosts was a 'filler' game before Advanced Warfare, which would hit the following year. Perhaps we could have done without Ghosts.

Still, it managed to find a sizeable audience and community, and managed to sell well despite being one of the lowest sellers in the franchise's history.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3

The gap between the least best Modern Warfare game, and Ghosts is rather significant, so don't let this ranking throw you off: Modern Warfare 3 is still an awesome game.

It wasn't met with as wide praise as other Modern Warfare entries, but Modern Warfare 3 is still solid in its own right. Familiar and not at all innovative, Modern Warfare 3 was still an engrossing FPS experience, even if the multiplayer component was a bit of a disjointed mess. Playerunknowns battlegrounds genre.

Its recent addition to the Xbox One's backwards compatibility list showed us how good a shooter it was at the time, and while it's certainly 'slower' than what we're used to with more modern Call of Duty entries, it still holds up reasonably well.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2

Same may hold Modern Warfare 2 up as the best in the series, and that's fine because it was a fantastic addition.

While its campaign didn't quite meet the emotional heights of its predecessor, Modern Warfare 2still offered one of the best stories in the series' long history, alongside a refined and deep multiplayer experience.

The Spec-Ops co-op mode was a fantastic addition, and while it was one of only a few new additions to the game from earlier Call of Duty entries, it helped create one of 2009's best games.

Further, much like Modern Warfare 3, its addition to Xbox One backwards compatibility made us remember just how awesome a game it is.

Call of Duty 2

At the time of its launch on Xbox 360, it was the best looking console game ever created and by a big margin. Its PC release was met with wide critical acclaim, as was its console launch, including the release of Big Red One on PS2, Xbox and Gamecube.

Its multiplayer still holds up today (not that you'd ever find a game …), and its campaign was an exhilarating ride through a powerful and engrossing World War II tale.

At a time when Call of Duty and Medal of Honor were battling for top spot in the World War-shooter genre, it was Call of Duty 2 that really helped the franchise establish its place amongst the greats.

Call of Duty

One of the most well-received first-person shooters of all time was given a remastered re-release alongside Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 in 2009. It received many 'Game of the Year' awards upon its original release in 2003.

Infinity Ward would become a household name among gamers with this release, set for big things with Activision and the Call of Duty name. The original and (one of) the best.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

There's no denying how influential Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare was on the genre upon its release in 2007. It sold consoles and quickly became the game to play online, a title it held for many, many years.

While the online population is small in comparison to its first few years, CoD4 is still a special online game, bringing the Call of Duty series into a modern setting and introducing a balanced, deep and satisfying online component with it.

There's also its campaign, which still holds up today as one of the more compelling console experiences of the past decade. It's not only the best Call of Duty of all-time, but it's also one of the best games of all-time.

What do you think of the list? How would you rank Infinity Ward's Call of Duty efforts? Sound off in the comments below?
